Yep, we’re finally back with the alleged photos of upcoming devices. This time we’re checking out alleged photos of the rear panel of the 5th generation iPad. Amongst rumors and rumors, the iPad 5 is rumored to be identical to the iPad mini with the aluminum back, so we’re excited that these photos are looking like what we’re hearing.
As you can see from the photos above, the iPad mini rear shell, and the alleged iPad 5 rear shell look 100% identical, sharing the same aluminum tone as eachother. The images are from 9to5mac, but however, have been unverified, and come from a “purported China-based iPad accessories maker, an industry that seems to frequently tip off Apple’s future product designs, of the back plate for the next iPad“. Here’s the scoop:
While we cannot confirm that the above image is legitimate, it does provide a solid representation of what Apple’s next iPad will likely look like. We were told this is a prototype back piece for the fifth-generation iPad with a 9.7-inch display. We were also told that the casing is almost as thin as the iPad mini’s back (pictured to the right). As you can see at the top of the purported iPad 5 backplate, this casing would likely be for an LTE model – as the black antenna cut implies.
Although these photos may not be legitimate, I for one, am definitely interested to see how the iPad 5 turns out. More photos after the jump!
