Scoring a ticket to WWDC was probably not in any of our favors, however, if you were lucky enough to score one in the two minutes that they were available, enjoy the conference. However, for those of you that did not, and happen to live in California, you can visit #AltWWDC, which promises to be an open, and free alternative to Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference. Yes, free.
#AltWWDC will be taking place the same days that WWDC will be in session, and will take place almost a block from the “Moscone West” where WWDC will be taking place. Here’s the scoop:
Join us for AltWWDC – a free and open alternative to Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference – June 10th-14th, 2013. Five days of talks, food, co-working, and mingling with other developers all without the bar noise. Got a WWDC ticket? Didn’t get a WWDC ticket? Doesn’t matter – the conference happens outside the conference.
#AltWWDC is being organized by the folks at Appsterdam, who is a non-profit organizations for app creators, or developers. The small event will feature a few speakers such as Mike Lee, Victor Agreda, Jr., Brett Terpstra, Brent Simmons, Saul Mora, and more.
Most notably, the event will have a Keynote breakfast which will allow you to eat, relax, and see what Apple has to offer via a live stream. By the way, did we mention that this little gathering will have free food? Yes, #AltWWDC will be serving free lunch everyday, so if you’re interested, you better get your ticket ASAP as they’re first come first serve.
