Apple Pulls Clueful Privacy App From App Store

Usally when Apple pulls an app form the app store, they give a reason towards why they did but not this time. Apple has pulled the Clueful app fro the iOS app store for no apparent reason. Clueful is an app that tells you the information apps get from you. Let’s say you have a maps application on your phone, well Clueful would list that the maps application tracks your location and stores  location data. Sounds like a cool app especially for those who want to keep their information safe or secret. However for no reason, Apple has removed that app from it’s iOS app store, possibly because they didn’t like the information the app was revealing. Creators of the Clueful app explained:

“App developers can ask for, and receive, access to your precise location, your contact list and more information about you when you install their products on your iPhone. Your iPhone is probably the most personal device you own, holding vast amounts of information about what you do, who you are and where you go. While most app developers use this information for legitimate purposes, others might not. Clueful was the best way to know what data apps are actually accessing.”
