A new KickStarter project called FLASHr is an iPhone case which will make your LED flash notifications different colors. In iOS 5 Apple added the new accessibility feature which allowed your LED light on the back of your iPhone to flash when receiving a notification. Unfortunately, the light is only one color, which is pretty boring, so FLASHr changes that.
The case works exactly like the hard-to-see diagram above. You start off by choosing the color you want and putting on the transparent plastic part of the case on your iPhone. Then to make the light spread out more you also attach the reflective backing in between the plastic and the back of the case. Finally, the back of the case holds everything together and you’ve got yourself color LED notifications!
After watching the video, we’re pretty sold on the case. The green LED looks really neat and Xbox users would probably agree. The company making this case, Phaze5, has stated that there are 125 color combinations to choose from. No need to worry about using the flash for your camera since there’s a switch on the back which allows you to slide a piece inside to reveal the light for taking pictures or video.
FLASHr can be reserved on the KickStarter page for only $35 with an estimated shipping date this October. Be sure to check out all of the combinations and models of the case since there are a few. At the time of this posting, the company already has almost $7,000 of their $75,000 goal with over four weeks left.
