fullforce for phone screen extender jailbreak

The Evasi0n Untethered iOS 6.1 Jailbreak was just released on Monday, now it’s time for the iOS 6.1 Jailbreak Tweaks to start flying into Cydia. To start off our Jailbreak adventures, we decided to make a video on how to make all apps run in fullscreen on iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5G using Cydia Tweaks.

The iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5G have been available for a few months now, but there are still plenty of apps in the App Store that aren’t supporting the new 4-inch Retina display. Currently there are two Jailbreak tweaks in the Cydia Store that will stretch out the aforementioned apps to their full potential.

Sunday is Funday Once Again for the Untethered iOS 6 Jailbreak [UPDATE: Maybe Not]

sunday is funday untethered ios 6 jailbreak

Earlier today Apple released the iOS 6.1 firmware to the public, which is interesting since the company never stated that the iOS 6.1 Beta 5 would be the Golden Master build. Aside from that, the release of iOS 6.1 finally allows the Untethered iOS 6 Jailbreak team, known now as evad3rs, to finish up the Jailbreak.

The evad3rs were waiting on Apple to released the iOS 6.1 firmware so that they could see if the firmware was still vulnerable to their exploits, it seems they are, but when will the team release the Untethered iOS 6.1 Jailbreak? [Read more...]

Next Generation iPhone Could Have Up to 128GB Capacity

128gb iphone

Not so long ago, Jefferies analyst Peter Misek speculated that the future next generation iPhone 5S would support up to 128GB capacity. While 64GB for the highest model is plenty, 1080p video and high quality photos are starting to take up a lot of space with all of these upgrades.

In a recent Tweet from @iNeal, the hacker and developer found something interesting in the iOS 6.1 SystemPartitionPadding. In iOS 6.0, this segment of iOS only shows partitions 8, 16, and 32, but in iOS 6.1 the system shows 8, 16, 32, 64, and 128. [Read more...]

Watch iPod Touch 5G Fall 100,000 Feet and Survive Without a Scratch (VIDEO)

iphone 5 falls from space ipod touch 5g g-form

G-Form is no stranger when comes to iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad drop tests using the company’s high-impact cases. This time around G-Form decided to drop an iPod Touch 5th generation in the G-form XTREME iPhone 5 case. The case is made out of Reactive Protection Technology™ with a rigid outer polycarbonate shell and an inner shock-absorbing TPE insert. The device fits snug in the case and is attached to a weather balloon along with a GPS and a camera. The company tracks the iPod Touch 5G with the GPS and takes off in a helicopter after the ballon has launched into space.

This video was done in the Nevada desert near Area-51, and no there weren’t any aliens to be seen. The iPod Touch 5G is seen on camera as it hits over 100,000 feet then plummets to the Earth’s ground. During the fall, the camera was unable to withstand the freezing weather so close to space, but you still get a chance to see a little bit of the Earth from a sight like never before.

The iPod Touch 5G later landed 41 miles from the launch site where it was found by the G-Form crew. The crew picked up the iPod Touch 5th generation and the  G-form XTREME iPhone 5 case, where the device had no scratches and worked good as new, even after a 100,000 ft. fall. The G-form XTREME iPhone 5 case can now be purchased for $39.99 over at the website.

Apple Adds More Security Against Untethered iOS 6.1 Jailbreak

iOS 6.1 Untethered Jailbreak

Stefan Esser, known as @i0n1c in the Jailbreak community, broke silence on Twitter today, announcing that Apple’s latest firmware iOS 6.1 adds even more security against Jailbreak. In the past, Esser has played a big part in bringing iOS exploits and being responsible for the iOS 4.3.x Untethered Jailbreak Exploit.

The iOS exploit hacker Tweeted that he thinks Apple has changed something in its security and that iOS 6.1 adds “tougher protection” against Untethered Jailbreak iOS 6.1. In October planetbeing released a Failbreak, which opened the Jailbreak to some private developers helping to find a way and making the Untethered iOS 6 Jailbreak work. The Failbreak was the only thing close to a public release of anything related to an iOS 6 Untethered Jailbreak. i0n1c mentions that iOS 6 hasn’t been “broken” yet, so this could be why his thoughts on Apple upping security could be true.

We still have no idea when we will be seeing an Untethered iOS 6 Jailbreak, Untethered iOS 6.0.1 Jailbreak, Untethered iOS 6.0.2 Jailbreak or Untethered iOS 6.1 Jailbreak. We do know that the Dev Team always works with the base firmware first, being iOS 6.0, and then moves on to see if others are possible. So far there hasn’t been any word if Apple made any changes in iOS 6.0.1 or iOS 6.0.2, but if you have a device on iOS 6.0, it is best not to upgrade if you are planning to Jailbreak.

The upcoming Untethered iOS 6 Jailbreak will include the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 5G, iPod Touch 4G, iPad Mini, iPad 4G, iPad 3G, and iPad 2G. This means all of the devices running an A6, A6X, A5, A5X, and A4 processor will be able to use the upcoming Untethered Jailbreak iOS 6.

State of Untethered Jailbreak iOS 6 and iOS 6.0.1 Release Date

iOS 6 was released nearly 3 months ago, back on September 19th, and word has been quiet regarding the state of Untethered Jailbreak iOS 6 and Untethered Jailbreak iOS 6.0.1 for the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 5G, iPod Touch 4G, iPad Mini, iPad 4, iPad 3, and iPad 2 Untethered Jailbreak.

Before we begin a quick recap for people new to the iOS Jailbreak scene, the difference between Untethered Jailbreak vs. Tethered Jailbreak. A Tethered Jailbreak iOS 6 is currently available for pre-A5 processor devices; the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, 4th Generation iPod Touch, and iPod Touch 3G, but not for A5, A5X, A6, and A6X processor iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, 5th Generation iPod Touch, iPad Mini or any of the iPad models.

However, if you are planning to Tethered Jailbreak iOS 6 on an older device, you need to know that “Tethered” means that if your iPhone or iTouch loses power and shuts off, you will need to go to a computer and Boot Tethered using Redsn0w. Doing a Tethered Boot can be a bit of a hassel for some, not always close to a computer, but this is the main con of not having an Untethered iOS 6 Jailbreak.

Now on to more recent iOS 6 Jailbreak News. chpwn, a member of the Dev Team, was able to install Cydia and Jailbreak iPhone 5 on the first day of release, with limited to no use. Later on, MuscleNerd was able to get “root#” running on an iPad Mini Jailbreak just 1 day after launch. Then a few days later, chpwn once again came through and posted a screenshot of the A6X iPad 4 Jailbreak running Cydia on the device. These were all the first steps towards an iOS 6 Untethered Jailbreak.
